PROJECT OVERVIEW
In May 2017, we invited Baltimore-based artists and rockstar duo Jessie Unterhalter and Katey Truhn, known as Jessie + Katey, to take on a transformative art project at 273 Western Ave in Allston, a public art project produced on behalf of Zone 3. Their site-specific installation covered every surface of the building, creating a vibrant local landmark that has since become one of the most photographed destinations in Allston. Sustainability was a key focus, with over 3,000 cans, bottle caps, plastic bags, and recyclable materials used in the project. During their one-month residency, Jessie + Katey hosted two community art workshops, fostering neighborhood engagement and creativity.
